Domestic Pinot Noir Champions

America is producing many of the world’s greatest pinot noirs at the present time. This special event will highlight the best and most select small producer, estate-grown pinot noirs from the finest properties in California (Carneros, Russian River Valley, Santa Lucia Highlands) and Oregon (Yamill, Willamette Valley). A red wine lover’s “must attend” classic tasting.

In the spring of 2007, we held the inaugural tasting of Port & Choclate to rave reviews. These two sensory delights match up as gracefully and deliciously as any wine and food pairing that we can think of. This second tasting session will further enhance this decadent coupling.

The Whiskey World’s Most Sizzling Craze:
American Straight Rye Whiskey

Rye whiskey was America’s first great whiskey. After a century of obscurity, whiskeys made from at least 51% rye are all the rage as American whiskey lovers harken back to an era when whiskey was bold, flavorful and spicy. Paul will also demonstrate how to make the perfect Sazerac cocktail. An evening which whiskey lovers will never forget.

Authentic Sherry from Spain & Spanish Cheeses

The world’s greatest food wine hails from the province of Andalucia in the south of Spain. There, a luscious fortified wine known as sherry/xeres/sherrish has been the hallmark product of this historically rich and agriculturally blessed region. The names roll off the tongue: manzanilla (dry, salty), fino (yeasty, doughy), amontillado (nutty, dry), oloroso (dry, raisiny), Pedro Ximenez (pruny, powerful), palo cortado (the rarest of all). Matched up with Spanish cheeses, Sherry comes alive and dispels many of the old misconceptions (“grandma’s tipple”) about Sherry.
